Lake View is another example of the quality of golf courses in and around Hua Hin. The design of this championship course conveys a sense of adventure. Hidden greens, mature palm trees and well defined fairways are on offer throughout this course. This course also offers a test for courage and putting expertise. Adventure is the style of this absorbing course. Greens are the well defined fairways provide the necessary pointers for golfers to retain a sense of direction. Rolling fairways and spectacular mounding around the greens can make some approach shots quite tricky. The par-three fourteenth is one of the outstanding holes on the course in that both tees and green are islands within a large lake, only accessible by footbridges from the mainland.
The 75-room hotel adjoining the clubhouse commands fine views over the golf courses and mountains beyond. Superb golf holes in an exciting layout. The opening hole has a wealth of potential problems for all levels of play, and decisions have to be made. An easy par four for those of us who want to take the conventional route, or if you are the adventurous golfer, then trying to cut the dog-leg corners will really test your skill. The Majestic Creek Country Club is yet another creation of Thailand's foremost golf architect, Dr.Sukitti Klangvisai. At 7,123 yards it is one of the longest courses in Thailand, and it also claims to have the longest hole in the Kingdom at 770 yards, which becomes a par six! Dr.Sukitti, together with the Thai/American shaping team have produced a layout which needs to be played with imagination and skill. Valleys in the nearby mountains
supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the builders have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards. A free shuttle bus service runs from the Majestic Beach Resort Hotel continuously throughout the day. The hazards of the 1 hole will never be far away, and precedes a succession of exciting and equally demanding holes. This testing layout is very manmade: most of the existing vegetation has been replaced. The result is attractive with the course running adjacent to limestone cliffs, which loom over the fairways. Early morning mists and towering hills give an almost European sensation to play. Greens, fairways and bunkers are beautifully maintained and every hole has a scenic backdrop. The Sports Club has its own tennis courts, swimming pool, polo club, snooker, etc. Hotel accommodations are available. Cha am Global Village is the golf course with 18 holes and located on the way to Cha am via the route 4 from Bangkok. The golf course had been operated as Cha am Villa Golf Club and changed to Cha am Global Village recently. The 18 holes are laid out on the flat fields. The course is set in a valley between round-topped hills covered with jungle and with fine views over crystal-clear lakes. From the standard men's tees the course is not too long and provides a fair test of golf. Water comes into play on the 3rd, 4th and 6th holes on the outer nine and during the inner nine at the 15th, 16th and 17th. At the dog-leg 17th water encroaches on both sides of the fairway, making it a difficult par four. The resort has its own hotel, land plots and other amenities, including a library. Very much a family type of club and not overly expensive for a weekend stay. The course is set in beautiful countryside. Clever use of water hazards creates an interesting test of golf. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition. Four sets of tees make this 'garden' course very enjoyable for all classes of plays. At the par-five 4th, 8th and 12th holes, water hazards severely penalize any errant shots. View of the course from the club house are very pleasant and chalet style accommodations are available. The resort even has its own landing strip, for those who wish to pilot their own aircraft!. This attractive course is almost surrounded by the River Kwai Noi. At the par-three first hole, the tee shot has to be played over the river and player walk across a suspension bridge to the first green. The course is relatively short and straight forward. Most of the holes are played away from the actual river, but at the 13th, 14th and short 15th, the river runs along the left side of the fairway at each hole. Facilities at the resort include a hotel, sports center, tennis courts and a swimming pool. Land plots and condominiums are available for those interested. Home Phutoey Country Club
is a golf course with 18 holes situated near Kwai Noi river surrounded by mountains in Kanchanaburi. It takes about one hour to reach the golf course from Kanchanaburi by car. The golf course is developed in a real nature of Kanchanaburi and offers a quiet and beautiful scenery. Playing here is a change from the longer championship courses of this area. Fantastic sea views and cooling sea breezes are features of this unique layout where accuracy and placement are more important than length to score well. This course proves to be difficult, and even some of the local professionals have trouble matching par here. Designer Robert McFarland has used one of the most interesting sites in Thailand to good effect. The course is surrounded on three sides by forested hills. From the clubhouse, panoramic sea views give the course a "link" atmosphere. The large variation in elevation allows many sweeping holes. Fast greens that are not easily read, will put your putting skills to the ultimate test! Never has a back 9 differed so much from the front 9.
This 27 hole course can only be reached by ferry! A delightful riverside setting provides the golfer with an interesting challenge. Natural flora blends harmoniously with the surrounding tropical jungle. Long tee shots are needed on many holes to clear chasms. During the first nine holes water comes into play on nearly every hole and some shots are blind. The clubhouse sits atop a hill, from which the fairways slope away in various directions. Accommodation can be found within easy reach of the golf course. Set on a shallow hill, sloping away from the big timber-clad club house, the wide fairways are lined with thousands of mature palms. There are some outstanding holes, over water and sand, including holes 3,11,12,15,16 and 17. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and features his waste bunkers. Players can choose from five well-spaced tees, according to their handicap. Luxurious accommodations are available at lake-side lodges. Booking is essential to play golf at this course. The Nichigo river and mountain courses are eye-catching and challenging. The courses designs maximize the features of the spectacular natural landscape. The fairways are wide and water has been used sparingly. Playing golf here your game is elevated to a new level, for it is a veritable golfer's paradise. To add to the enjoyment of playing these wonderful courses, Nichigo has provided drink huts at every third hole. Clubhouse and hotel facilities are of the highest standards and family enjoyment is assured at one of the finest complexes in the country.
The rolling and undulating fairways of the golf course give Palm Hills a distinctive identity which is different from all the other courses in the area. The 18 holes are arranged in two distinctive nines, separated by the beautiful clubhouse and a rocky outcrop extending from the mountain range. The course runs from east to
west, with lakes at each end. The greens can be fast with some very tricky burrows. While playing the second nine holes, players are rewarded with some breathtaking views of the Gulf of Thailand. 80 meters above sea level the rolling and gently undulating fairways provide Palm Hills with it’s own individual identity. The only exception to the gentle terrain is on the 10 hole, where a semi-blind tee shot is encountered from the side of an imposing limestone mountain. Water is also a hazard especially on the 2, 8, 11 and 14 holes. "Toppers" beware! Opened in 1924 and less than one kilometer from the center of town, The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course offers tempting Tee shots for the adventurous. Natural jungle surroundings, as well as views over the Gulf of Thailand, make this course a must for any golfer staying in or near Hua Hin. This is one of Thailand's gems. Major renovations and improvements in the 1980s have ensured that the course and its facilities remain on par with the newer generation of clubs. It is also a course which affords players glorious views of the Gulf of Thailand.
Those who play here will never forget the experience, especially when they play the par-three eighteenth, with the beautiful sight of a Thai temple forming the panoramic background. The new clubhouse is situated alongside the charming old Hua Hin railway station on the Bangkok-Singapore railway line, which contributes to an aura of elegance of a bygone era in old Thailand. The second shot also has to be "placed" to avoid hitting into the water on the right of the fairway. There is a big clubhouse, hotel and condominiums, plus a sports center. This Jack Nicklaus designed course , gained a reputation of being one of the finest courses in Thailand, and is now established as a must while golfing in Hua Hin or Cha-am.
